A coalition of environmental groups called on Congress on Friday to let wind and solar developers claim a tax credit for either production or investment.
The economics of any renewable project “will vary depending on geography, technology type, timing, and other factors,” the groups wrote in a letter to the House Ways and Means Committee obtained by Bloomberg Law.
For example, a wind developer may in some cases prefer the investment credit. Giving developers the option of either credit would increase the incentive for new deployment, according to the letter.
