3M, Tyco, Others Must Face Florida City’s PFAS Damage Claims

3M Co., E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Tyco Fire Products LP, and other companies lost their bid to escape a Florida city’s claims for damages from PFAS contamination in its waterways.

Stuart, Fla., alleged that the companies contaminated its municipal water supply system with PFAS-based aqueous film-forming foam, a specialized firefighting foam. It seeks damages from the cost of cleaning the chemicals out of the water system.

The city can bring its claims for $105 million in damages related to the operation and maintenance of the city’s PFAS treatment system, $851,729 for studies and reports, ...
