3M, DuPont, Others Sued Over PFAS at California Airport (1)

E.I. DuPont de Nemours Inc., Chemours Co., 3M Co., and others should pay for cleaning up PFAS contamination in the water and soil at the Monterey Regional Airport in California, according to a lawsuit filed in a South Carolina federal court.

The companies knew or should have known that their products contained perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) or perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. PFOS and PFOA are a type of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances known as PFAS.
