IEA Sees Record Nuclear Production With Boost From Trump Plans

Global nuclear power generation will rise to a record this year, and that momentum is likely to continue under the Trump administration’s atomic push, the International Energy Agency’s leader said.

In addition, about 70 gigawatts of reactor capacity are under construction worldwide, Executive Director Fatih Birol said during a webcast with the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think tank. That’s the most in three decades.

“This year, 2025, we expect global nuclear electricity generation will be the highest in history,” Birol said without giving a specific number.
