Green Groups Call Agency’s Gulf Oil Species Impact Review Flawed

Conservation groups urged a Maryland federal court for a quick win in their challenge to oil and gas activities in the Gulf of Mexico, citing concerns over marine life.

The court should vacate and remand the National Marine Fisheries Service’s approvals back to the agency so it can produce a “legally compliant” document “that sufficiently protects Gulf wildlife,” the environmental groups said in their motion filed Oct. 3. with the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
