EPA Watchdog Identifies Risks in Now-Canceled Solar Program

A Biden-era EPA solar energy program that became a target for the Trump administration was at risk of administrative and oversight problems, according to a new report from the agency’s internal watchdog.

The findings could provide the Environmental Protection Agency’s political leadership with ammunition to support Administrator Lee Zeldin’s allegations, now playing out in courts, that the $7 billion program known as Solar for All was a “slush fund” and a “grift.” But the Office of Inspector General report didn’t find any evidence of fraud or self-dealing, and is generally consistent with concerns the watchdog typically finds when looking into ...
