Trump’s OSHA Proposes Loosening Workplace Safety Regulations

The Trump administration plans to revise more than 40 workplace safety rules by either narrowing or removing provisions deemed as slowing technological and economic development.

The regulations roadmap includes a plan to remove or change dozens of Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. The proposed rule, titled OSHA Standards Improvement Project 2025, cites the president’s executive orderdirecting agencies to repeal regulations as well as several US Supreme Court cases, such as Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Jarkesy v. SEC, as the legal foundation to rein in the agency’s power.
