Temple University Hospital and a Muslim ex-employee agreed to end a lawsuit alleging she was suspended and fired after she requested an religious accommodation excusing her from specific procedures.
The parties dismissed the case with prejudice Thursday through a signed order filed by Judge Mark A. Kearney of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Ciara Dickerson, a surgical technician for the Philadelphia hospital, sued Temple University in June claiming it violated the Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and state discrimination law.
