Revel Systems Gets Overtime Wage Class Settlement Approved

Revel Systems Inc.'s $2.75 million settlement for class claims alleging it failed to pay its workers overtime received preliminary approval by a federal court Feb. 22.

Revel sells a cloud-based point of sale system that integrates with Apple‘s iPad to restaurants, retailers, and other businesses. Joseph Bisaccia, Rosie O’Brien, and Joshua Michi claim members of Revel’s sales force regularly worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime.

The company allegedly misclassified its salespeople to skirt the Fair Labor Standards Act’s overtime pay requirements.

After attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, the settlement will pay just over $2 million ...
