EEOC Sues Concrete Company Over Anti-Methadone Applicant Policy

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued two Kentucky concrete and construction companies Tuesday for allegedly refusing to hire a job applicant who takes methadone for opioid addiction treatment.

The EEOC alleges Wrightway Ready-Mix LLC and its parent company, Wright Concrete & Construction Inc., violated federal disability laws by maintaining a blanket policy against hiring workers who use addiction treatment medications.
