Cozen O’Connor fired one of its associates for improper use of artificial intelligence during a trial in Nevada state court, according to the law firm.
The associate, Daniel Mann, in court documents cited references to cases that do not exist, a Sept. 3 filing by Cozen said. The improper citations came during Cozen’s defense of Uprise, a Reno, Nevada-based internet provider, against allegations that the company backed out of paying a contractor.
