California Manicurists Drop Independent Contractor Law Challenge

A group of manicurists and nail salons in California dropped their lawsuit challenging a state law that banned certain workers from being classified as independent contractors.

The group—which claimed the law illegally targeted Vietnamese women who disproportionately made up the workforce of nail technicians—filed a notice Tuesday to dismiss their suit in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
