The Biden administration is claiming nearly all of Alaska’s Arctic Coastal Plain as a wetland protected under the Clean Water Act in defiance of the US Supreme Court’s 2023 wetlands ruling, an Alaska official told a House subcommittee on Wednesday.

It’s an example of the Biden administration’s regulatory overreach following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Sackett v. EPA, said Emma Pokon, commissioner of the Alaska Department of Environmental Protection, speaking at a House Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee hearing.
