Workers Suing Condé Nast Parent Over BlackRock Funds Seek Class

Workers suing Condé Nast parent company Advance Publications Inc. over the BlackRock Inc. target date funds in its 401(k) plan asked a Manhattan federal judge to certify the case as a class action.

The proposed class includes everyone who invested in BlackRock LifePath Index target date funds through the Advance 401(k) plan since August 2016. Their redacted motion for class certification, filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, says the plan covers more than 12,000 people but doesn’t publicly specify how many of them held the BlackRock funds.
