Whole Foods Finalizes $2 Million Class Deal Over 401(k) Plan

Whole Foods Market Inc. received final approval for a $2 million class settlement resolving litigation over the fees charged by its employees’ 401(k) plan.

The agreement represents about 17% of the workers’ maximum estimated damages and is expected to benefit nearly 100,000 people. Judge Robert Pitman, of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, granted final approval to the deal and awarded class counsel nearly $700,000 in attorneys’ fees and expenses in a pair of Jan. 23 orders.
