Wells Fargo $1 Million COBRA Notice Deal Gets Partial Thumbs-Up

A class settlement requiring Wells Fargo & Co. to pay up to $1 million over its employee health plan notices inched toward court approval, but a federal magistrate judge balked at a set of payments slated for the case’s class representatives.

Magistrate Judge Sean P. Flynn of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Oct. 20 recommended approving the settlement, which would cover about 50,000 people who received COBRA notices from Wells Fargo between May 2018 and December 2021.
