Walmart Sued Again Over COBRA Notices After Feds Weigh In (1)

Walmart Inc. was sued in federal court in Florida by a former employee who says the company’s COBRA notices are legally deficient. The proposed class action, filed Friday, comes four months after a federal judge recommended against certifying a 147,000-person class in a suit bringing similar claims against the retailer.

The new lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida by Wade Champendo, alleges Walmart repeatedly sent former employees notices of their health coverage rights that failed to include legally required information, including the name and contact information for the health plan administrator.
