Walgreens Agrees to Settle Generic Drug Overcharging Lawsuit

Walgreen Co. plans to settle a proposed class action by customers who say the pharmacy chain overcharges for generic drugs when they’re purchased using insurance.

The parties are working to finalize necessary settlement documents and plan to submit the deal for court approval by Nov. 1, they said in a joint status report. The report, filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, didn’t include details about the agreement.
