A Georgia physician with pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, and coronary artery disease sued Unum Group and a subsidiary for disability benefits, saying his high risk for Covid-19 makes it unsafe for him to work even while wearing personal protective equipment.

Albert Lintel, a staff physician for Wellstar Medical Group, says he stopped working in April 2020 because of the “severe complications he would likely experience” if he contracted Covid.
