Unum Must Pay Disability Benefits to Medical Malpractice Lawyer

Unum Life Insurance Co. of America owes past-due and ongoing disability benefits to a medical malpractice attorney whose multiple myeloma cancer diagnosis and related treatments made him unable to continue working full time.

The attorney’s symptoms and the side effects from his treatments caused him to struggle with cognitive issues, fatigue, nausea, and pain, Judge John R. Tunheim of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota said.
