Unum Beats Disability Benefits Appeal by Nurse With Long Covid

Unum Life Insurance Co. of America properly denied disability benefits to a nurse practitioner who failed to show that her lingering Covid-19 symptoms prevented her from working, the Second Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The nurse presented “only sparse evidence” of her claimed inability to meet the physical demands of her job, and her psychiatric care provider said she wasn’t prevented from working because of cognitive issues, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in an unpublished opinion.
