United Airlines Military Leave Judge Expresses Doubts About Case

A federal judge weighing a United Airlines Inc. pilot’s lawsuit seeking paid military leave declined to certify the case as a class action, saying he has “percolating doubts” about the merits of the underlying case.

Judge Steven C. Seeger on Sunday denied Eric White’s request to certify classes covering about 700 pilots seeking unpaid wages and profit sharing credit for periods they took leave from the company to serve in the military.
