Tetra Tech Sued Over Handling of Forfeited Money in 401(k) Plan

Tetra Tech Inc. is the latest employer to be hit with a class complaint challenging how it handles the 401(k) plan money forfeited by workers who leave their jobs after short periods.

The new lawsuit, filed Wednesday in the Central District of California, says Tetra Tech mismanaged its employees’ retirement plan by putting forfeited money toward the contributions it would otherwise have to make to the plan, instead of using it to reduce the administrative expenses borne by workers.
