Tall Tree Administrators Seeks to Exit Health Plan’s DOL Row

Tall Tree Administrators, a Utah-based employee benefits service provider, wants out of a Labor Department lawsuit targeting the people running a troubled multiple employer health fund.

Tall Tree was pulled into the lawsuit by AEU Holdings LLC and related entities in charge of a multiple employer welfare arrangement that, at its height, provided health and welfare benefits to about 14,000 people across 36 states. After DOL accused the AEU defendants of failing to pay more than $29 million in medical bills, AEU filed claims against several of the MEWA’s service providers, including Tall Tree.
