Arbitration cases will resume for medical payment disputes involving out-of-network health-care providers covered by the No Surprises Act under guidance issued Friday by a trio of federal agencies.
The guidance for independent dispute resolution (IDR), or arbitration, is effective for payment determinations made as of Feb. 6 for services provided as of Oct. 25, 2022 for plan years beginning as of Jan. 1, 2022.
