SeaWorld’s $1.25 Million 401(k) Settlement Questioned by Judge

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. workers must provide more information justifying the $1.25 million class settlement they negotiated over their retirement plan fees, a federal judge said in an order questioning damage calculations.

The workers said the 40,000-person settlement was a good deal because their total potential recovery in the case was about $10.8 million. But they didn’t explain how this figure was calculated or include any statements from their designated expert, Judge Robert S. Huie said Thursday for the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
