SeaWorld Workers’ Lawyers Must Pay Over 401(k) Discovery Dispute

Attorneys suing SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. over the fees associated with its 401(k) plan must pay the company’s law firm nearly $7,500 after unsuccessfully seeking documents related to the plan’s management during the current calendar year.

The workers’ attorneys sought 401(k)-related documents spanning “the entire class period,” which they said should extend until the court issues a final judgment in the case. SeaWorld agreed to provide certain documents related to the period before Dec. 31, 2022, but the workers’ attorneys pushed for more recent documents, saying there’s “no cutoff date for relevancy.”
