SeaWorld Retirement Fee Class Action Settles for $1.25 Million

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. employees negotiated a $1.25 million class settlement in their lawsuit challenging the fees and investment options in the company’s retirement plan.

The proposed deal, announced Tuesday, would benefit about 40,000 people covered by SeaWorld’s retirement plan since August 2015. The workers estimated their total damages in the case to be about $10.8 million, they said in a settlement motion submitted for the approval of Judge Robert S. Huie of the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
