Save Mart Strikes Deal in Health-Care Misrepresentation Lawsuit

Save Mart Supermarkets will settle a proposed class action by retired, non-union workers who say the grocer terminated their health benefits after misleading them about the ones available to unionized workers.

The parties reached a deal to end the lawsuit and plan to file details of their agreement for court approval within two weeks, they said in a joint status report filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The filing didn’t include details about the settlement’s terms.
