The American National Red Cross must defend litigation over its retirement plan and provide workers with “narrow, constrained” discovery about the plan’s recordkeeping fees and Northern Trust target date funds.
Judge Ana C. Reyes on Tuesday denied the organization’s motion to dismiss the proposed class action, which takes aim at the plan’s administrative fees and investment options. Reyes ordered the Red Cross to produce documents related to the plan’s reduction in annual recordkeeping fees from $45 per person to $31.50 per person, along with committee meeting minutes discussing the plan’s investment in the Northern Trust Focus Funds.
