Qualcomm Denied Redo, Quick Appeal in 401(k) Forfeiture Lawsuit

Qualcomm Inc. failed to convince a California federal judge to rethink his recent decision forcing the company to defend litigation over how it handles forfeited money in its 401(k) plan.

The judge on Monday denied Qualcomm’s request to have the case reconsidered or sent directly to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for a ruling. The company’s motion largely reasserts previously rejected legal arguments, Judge Roger T. Benitez said, adding that he “continues to disagree” with Qualcomm’s interpretation of the relevant legal provisions.
