Fifty-two percent of health insurance executives expect their companies will compete in the health insurance exchange marketplaces that will start in 2014 under the health reform law, according to a report published July 12 by PricewaterhouseCoopers’s US Health Research Institute.
Unlike the current market in which most individuals and workers, except federal employees, have few choices of health plans, “Insurers will compete head to head as health insurance exchanges open up consumer choice and a new $60 billion market in 2014,” Change the channel: Health insurance exchanges expand choice and competition said.
