PSEG Beats Ex-Employee’s Severance Lawsuit Over Remote Role

Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. properly denied severance benefits to a longtime employee who was offered a new work-from-home position when his prior job was eliminated in 2020, a federal court ruled.

The employee, an 18-year veteran of the energy company who reported to a facility in Albany, N.Y., said he was entitled to severance under the terms of Public Service’s plan because the job he was offered—and declined to take—required a commute of more than 50 miles from previous position.
