Prevea’s Retirement Fee Deal of Nearly $600,000 Gets Court Nod

A $597,500 class settlement benefiting employees of Prevea Clinic Inc. received initial court approval, paving the way for resolution of litigation over the fees charged by the Wisconsin health system’s retirement plan.

The deal, expected to benefit about 6,000 people covered by Prevea’s plan since July 2014, reflects about 15% of the total estimated losses demanded in mediation, according to the motion to approve the deal. Judge William C. Griesbach of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin signed the preliminary approval order Monday and scheduled a June 6 fairness hearing.
