PPL Corp. Workers Want Class of Thousands Over 401(k) Plan Funds

Current and former PPL Corp. workers challenging the Northern Trust target date funds in their retirement plans asked a federal judge to certify their case as a class action covering “thousands” of people.

The workers want to certify a class covering all participants in and beneficiaries of four PPL retirement plans since January 2016 through the date of judgment in the case. Each plan covered thousands of people during this period, according to the workers’ April 7 motion. Their complaint suggests the class could include up to 10,000 people.
