The National Rifle Association of America suffered a blow to its defense against New York’s charity malfeasance lawsuit, with a New York appellate court dismissing counterclaims against the state.

The firearms group couldn’t revive counterclaims alleging that Attorney General Letitia James (D) violated the group’s First Amendment rights by selectively enforcing the laws against it and targeting the NRA for political speech in support of firearms deregulation instead of the widespread illegal executive compensation practices the state alleges.
