Northwestern University employees who challenged the school’s retirement plans in court say they’ve uncovered additional wrongdoing by the people running the plans.
The employees on April 24 asked for permission to add new claims to their proposed class action, which challenges the fees and investment options in Northwestern’s retirement plans. The employees say they’ve learned that Northwestern violated the plans’ investment policy and wrongly allowed third parties to market services to plan investors. These activities came to light during the discovery process and weren’t apparent when the employees filed suit in 2016, they say.
