Northwestern Beats Workers’ Bid to Revive Excessive-Fee Suit

Northwestern University workers won’t be able to get a reversal of a ruling that ended their lawsuit challenging excessive fees in the university’s retirement plans.

The workers’ request to set aside the ruling that dismissed all their claims didn’t advance arguments sufficient to reverse the court’s judgment, Judge Jorge L. Alonso of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois held June 27. The workers’ arguments were either already made or could have been made before in their opposition to dismissal, Alonso said.
