Northeastern Loses Bid for Fast Appeal Over Retirement Plan Fees

Northeastern University is the latest employer to be denied a quick appeal to the First Circuit after being ordered to defend litigation challenging its retirement plan fees.

The school wanted an immediate appeal of an April opinion greenlighting claims over its retirement plan, arguing that it conflicts with decisions in multiple circuit courts. Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton denied the request in an order docketed Tuesday without giving a written explanation for his decision.
