New York’s $216 Billion Pension Fund Names Patel as Deputy CIO

New York State’s $216.3 billion pension named Navyug “Nav” Patel as deputy chief investment officer of the third-largest government worker retirement fund in the U.S., the state comptroller said in a news release.

  • Patel joined the New York State Common Retirement Fund five years ago and has served as interim deputy CIO since July 2018
  • Before joining the pension, Patel was an equity derivatives trader at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Barclays Plc and Jefferies Financial Group Inc.
