New York Pension Fund Hires a Director for Sustainable Investing

The New York State Common Retirement Fund, the third-largest U.S. public pension fund, said it had hired its first director of sustainable investments for the first time.

The new hire, Andrew Siwo, had been an investment director at Colonial Consulting. He will report directly to the plan’s chief investment officer and oversee a $12 billion commitment to a “Climate Solutions Program,” New York State said in a statement today. He will also train investment teams on sustainable investing.
