New York and Massachusetts say they’re going to sue the Trump administration over a new rule that expands small-business access to association health plans.
The two states came out against the Labor Department’s final rule on association health plans just one day after it was released to the public. The rule “will invite fraud, mismanagement and deception and will do nothing to help ease the real health-care challenges facing Americans,” the attorneys general of New York and Massachusetts said June 20. The rule, as proposed, is “unlawful, and would lead to fewer critical consumer health protections,” they said.
