Musk, X Get Discovery Paused in Twitter Severance Pay Lawsuit

Laid-off Twitter employees who say they’re owed severance benefits after Elon Musk‘s takeover of the company can’t seek discovery from Musk or X Corp. until a California federal court decides whether to dismiss the proposed class action.

The defendants’ motion to dismiss, which says there’s “no such thing” as a Twitter severance plan, is “potentially dispositve of the entire case,” Magistrate Judge Robert M. Illman said Tuesday. This warrants pausing discovery in the case until the motion is resolved, Illman said.
