The number of employers providing their employees with funding to purchase Obamacare coverage has doubled since 2020, primarily among small employers, a trade group said Thursday.
Health reimbursement arrangements—accounts through which employers provide funding for employees to purchase health insurance on the Affordable Care Act exchanges—"are doubling on average among all states, with significant growth across all industries, types of employers and employee groups,” the HRA Council said with the release of its report. Ninety-two percent of the companies adopting the accounts have 20 or fewer employees.
