Millions Would Lose Coverage Without COBRA Aid Extension, Labor Secretary Says

Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis urged Congress March 2 to pass legislation to extend health insurance subsidies to prevent millions of Americans from losing their continued health coverage.

“It is essential that Congress extend the unemployment and COBRA subsidy programs that are part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” Solis said in a statement. “If the extension is not approved immediately, millions of Americans could lose the [COBRA subsidy] they deserve and desperately need.”
