Medicare Advantage Rates in 2011 Frozen; Part D Coverage Gap Changes Outlined

In accordance with provisions in the new health reform law, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services April 5 froze 2011 Medicare Advantage rates at the same levels as are currently in effect.

“[T]he capitation rates for 2011 are the same as the capitation rates for 2010,” CMS said in its Announcement of Calendar Year (CY) 2011 Medicare Advantage Capitation Rates and Medicare Advantage and Part D Payment Policies and Final Call Letter.
