McConnell, Chao Family Member Is Pension Agency Nominee (1)

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation is a little-known government agency that has a big money problem. President Donald Trump just tapped Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) brother-in-law to try and tackle it.

Trump officially nominated Gordon Hartogensis May 15 as the head of the PBGC, the government agency that insures private pensions. Hartogensis’ LinkedIn profile lists his current occupation as trustee of the Hartogensis Family Trust where he manages the family’s portfolio of assets.
