Lowe’s Joins Ranks of Employers Sued for Health Coverage Notices

Lowe’s Companies Inc. doesn’t give its workers legally compliant notices of their right to continued coverage under the company’s health plan, according to a proposed class action filed in the Middle District of Florida. A number of other employers face similar suits.

The lawsuit by former Lowe’s employee Milton Robles challenges the notices that Lowe’s sends to workers informing them of their rights under the Consolidated Budget Reconciliation Act. Lowe’s COBRA notification process “provides only part of the legally required information in haphazard, piece-meal fashion,” Robles claims.
