Leidos Fails to Escape Employee Health Plan Tobacco Penalty Suit

A proposed class of Leidos Inc. employees advanced a lawsuit accusing the defense and information technology company of mismanaging a program that charges workers who smoke extra fees for healthcare coverage.

Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles denied the company’s motion to have the case dismissed in an order docketed May 22. The judge’s order, issued in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, didn’t include a written explanation for the decision.
