A $1.15 million class settlement benefiting Lehigh Valley Health Network Inc. workers received initial approval from a federal judge, paving the way for resolution of a dispute over the hospital system’s retirement plan.
The deal, which is slated to benefit more than 26,000 people covered by the Lehigh plan, represents about 11% of the workers’ estimated damages on all claims, and more than 61% of the damages associated with their core claims of high recordkeeping fees and mishandled forfeitures.
